Roberto Torres, co-founder of Black & Denim Apparel Company, joins Carissa on the Small Businesses Do It Better Show.
“American Inspired, American Made, American Owned” is Black & Denim’s motto, and all of the garments and accessories are made in the U.S. The clothes are high end, and the designs stick closely to Americana themes, including music and the military.
Black & Denim was a winner of the MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition Series, Macy’s gave them a week in its minority business development program called The Workshop at Macy’s, and they recently raised more than $35,000 in their Kickstarter campaign.
Chez Moi Bakery was the winning business in the February SBDIB Facebook contest. Chez Moi is a specialty bakery which offers a variety of cakes not found in traditional bakeries. Tonight Carissa will be featuring their delicious and beautiful rum cakes.
