Time Magazine recently published their annual “The 100 Most Influential People in the World” list. I noticed a couple of names who started their small business out with an idea and a dream, and now they’re globally recognized names with a product and a service that have positively impacted people’s lives everywhere.
Sara Blakely: Inventor of Spanx
Sara had a great idea and $5,000. Soon after her brilliant idea hit the market, Oprah deemed it one of her favorite things which skyrocketed her sales. Spanx now offers more than 200 products in 40 countries. Manx is the newest product, for men, which is claimed to “help with back pain”. Sure, that’s why we all wear them.
“Her business has expanded almost as quickly as our waistlines”
